The crypto space moves fast. New projects launch daily, regulations evolve, market dynamics shift, and technological innovations reshape possibilities. For newcomers, the learning curve feels insurmountable. For experienced participants, staying current demands constant attention. Existing resources are scattered across platforms, varying wildly in quality, and rarely personalized to individual needs and interests.
Skribr was conceived to solve this challenge by creating a trusted companion for all things crypto. The vision was clear: build an end-to-end educational platform where users could discover content tailored to their experience level and interests, subscribe to favorite authors and topics, and build personal knowledge banks for ongoing reference. Content would span multiple formats including written articles, audio podcasts, and video podcasts to accommodate different learning preferences. A discovery feed would surface emerging projects and trending topics. To bring this vision to life, Chop Dawg designed and developed a comprehensive multi-platform solution including mobile applications, a web application, an administrative backend, and a marketing website. The result is a platform positioned to become the go-to resource for crypto education.
The crypto education landscape suffered from fragmentation and inconsistent quality. Information was scattered across blogs, YouTube channels, Twitter threads, and forums with no unified experience. Users had no way to personalize their learning journey or track what they had already consumed. Content quality varied dramatically, with little curation to separate valuable insights from noise. Different learning preferences, whether reading articles, listening to podcasts, or watching videos, required jumping between multiple platforms.
Skribr needed to solve multiple challenges simultaneously. The platform required a content architecture that could accommodate articles, audio podcasts, and video podcasts while maintaining consistent discovery and consumption experiences. Personalization had to work at multiple levels: interest-based recommendations, subscription to specific authors and topics, and favoriting for later reference. Discovery features needed to surface both trending content and emerging projects that users might not know to search for. The administrative backend had to empower content creators to publish across all formats while managing projects, categories, and author profiles. A bounty system was needed to incentivize quality content creation. And the entire experience had to work seamlessly across iPhone, Android, and web browsers to meet users wherever they preferred to learn.
Building a Multi-Platform Educational Experience for the Crypto Community
From the very first conversation, we understood that Skribr’s success depended on creating a unified learning experience that felt native across every platform and content type. Working closely with the founding team, we mapped user journeys from initial discovery through subscription, consumption, and ongoing engagement. We defined how personalization should work based on stated interests and implicit behavior. We designed content experiences that would serve articles, audio podcasts, and video podcasts with consistent interaction patterns while respecting the unique affordances of each format.
Figma served as our collaborative design hub where wireframes evolved into polished, high-fidelity screens for mobile applications, web application, and administrative backend. Weekly meetings during design and bi-weekly meetings during development kept all stakeholders aligned as we iterated on complex features like multi-format content players, subscription management, and the bounty system for authors. In parallel, we formalized a technical approach centered on React Native for mobile, React for web and admin applications, PHP with Laravel for backend services, Firebase and AWS for infrastructure, and OneSignal for push notifications. Through Slack, Jira, Confluence, and GitHub, every decision stayed documented and accessible. By the time development concluded, Skribr had become a comprehensive platform ready to serve the crypto education market.
We designed and developed iPhone and Android mobile applications plus a responsive web application that transform crypto education from scattered resources into a personalized learning journey.
Skribr’s library feed delivers a personalized content experience based on each user’s stated interests and subscription preferences. During onboarding, users select and rank their interests across categories including Crypto, DeFi, NFTs, and a dedicated track for complete beginners. Based on these selections, the library feed surfaces relevant content from across the platform. Users can subscribe to specific authors, podcasts, projects, and categories, with new content from subscriptions appearing prominently in their feed. The platform automatically tracks which content has been previously viewed, ensuring users can quickly identify new material. A favorites system allows users to bookmark content for later reference, creating personal knowledge banks that grow over time. Highlighted content recommended by the Skribr editorial team ensures users never miss important developments.
Recognizing that learning preferences vary, Skribr supports multiple content formats within a unified experience. Written articles feature rich text with embedded images and clickable links, presenting detailed explanations and analysis in a scannable format. Audio podcasts provide on-the-go learning with full playback controls including pause, resume, volume adjustment, rewind, and fast forward, plus background playback support on mobile devices so users can listen while using other applications. Video podcasts deliver visual explanations with picture-in-picture support on mobile, allowing users to continue watching while navigating elsewhere. Every piece of content displays consistent metadata including thumbnail, title, author or podcast name, publication date, associated category, and linked projects when applicable. Users can interact with any content by subscribing to its author, podcast, or associated project directly from the content view.
Beyond personalized recommendations, Skribr’s discovery feed allows users to explore the complete content library with powerful filtering capabilities. Users can browse by category to dive deep into specific topics like Crypto fundamentals, DeFi protocols, or NFT ecosystems. Content type filters separate articles from audio podcasts and video podcasts, accommodating different learning moments and preferences. Project-based browsing surfaces all content related to specific blockchain projects, helping users conduct comprehensive research when evaluating opportunities. When viewing content associated with a particular podcast or project, users can access dedicated screens showing all related content in one place. Sharing functionality connects with native operating system sharing on mobile and provides copyable links on web, enabling users to spread valuable insights across their networks.
Beyond the consumer-facing applications, we developed a robust web-based administrative backend that gives the Skribr team complete control over content publishing, author management, and platform analytics.
The administrative backend provides comprehensive tools for publishing and managing all content types. Article creation includes title, publication scheduling, category and project associations, thumbnail upload, and a rich text editor supporting images within the body. Podcast episode creation supports audio files, video files, or both simultaneously, with the same metadata capabilities. Project management allows administrators to create and maintain project profiles with titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and category associations, ensuring all related content can be easily discovered. Content can be modified or deleted at any time, with scheduling functionality enabling advance preparation of publication calendars. This unified content management system ensures that authors can focus on creating quality educational material while administrators maintain organizational control over the platform’s knowledge library.
The administrative backend supports a dual-role system distinguishing administrators with full platform access from authors focused on content creation. Administrator accounts can create and manage other accounts, setting appropriate permissions for each role. Author accounts include profile information with first name, last name, and profile image that displays alongside their published content. A bounty system enables administrators to post content opportunities with associated financial incentives. Authors can browse available bounties, claim assignments, and track their commitments. Administrators can view which author has claimed each bounty and cancel claims if necessary to reassign work. This system creates structured incentives for quality content creation while giving administrators visibility into the content pipeline and author productivity.
Our partnership extended far beyond design and development. We served as strategic advisors, helping make confident decisions about platform architecture, content strategy, and user experience so Skribr could establish itself as a trusted resource in the crypto education space.
Together, we designed Skribr to deliver consistent experiences across iPhone, Android, and web while respecting the unique capabilities of each platform. Mobile applications leverage native features including Touch ID and Face ID for secure authentication, background audio playback for podcasts, picture-in-picture for video content, and push notifications for subscription updates. The web application provides the same content library and personalization features with keyboard navigation and multi-tab workflows that desktop users expect. Deep linking connects email notifications and push alerts directly to relevant content regardless of platform. This cross-platform strategy ensures users can engage with Skribr however and wherever they prefer to learn.
Throughout development, we implemented security best practices essential for building user trust. All data is encrypted using OpenSSL with AES-256-CBC cipher. Passwords are hashed and salted to prevent brute force attacks. Two-factor authentication via SMS protects both user accounts and administrative access. Amazon RDS provides secure database infrastructure with data encrypted at rest. Fail2Ban integration detects and blocks malicious probing. Cloudflare DDoS mitigation protects against service interruptions. SSH key authentication secures all maintenance access. These layered security measures ensure that users can trust Skribr with their account information while administrators maintain secure access to platform management tools.
Beyond the core applications, we prepared Skribr for market entry with comprehensive brand and marketing assets. A WordPress marketing website provides the public-facing foundation with responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints. Pages include home, about, support and contact, and legalities. A coming soon landing page with MailChimp integration collected interested user email addresses during development, building an audience before launch. Custom app icon design through low-fidelity exploration to high-fidelity refinement delivered assets meeting Apple App Store and Google Play Store requirements. Social media graphics for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat ensure consistent brand presence across platforms. A bug warranty and maintenance window ensure smooth operations after launch.
Our partnership was built on shared belief in the power of quality crypto education. Weekly meetings during design phases provided alignment on user flows, content experiences, and visual direction. Bi-weekly meetings during programming ensured development stayed on track while respecting the longer timelines required for complex functionality. Figma served as our collaborative design canvas where feedback happened in real time. Jira tracked every feature and bug through completion while Confluence captured all decisions for future reference. GitHub housed the source code with complete version control. A dedicated project manager coordinated across design, development, and quality assurance teams. By the time Skribr launched across mobile and web platforms, every stakeholder was aligned, every detail was refined, and the result was a comprehensive educational platform ready to serve the crypto community.
