The journey of leadership is profound, filled with self-reflection, growth, and the desire to make a meaningful impact. However, many potential leaders falter not for lack of ambition, but due to a lack of insight into their own strengths and weaknesses. Without honest, structured feedback from those who work alongside them, individuals remain blind to the very qualities that could propel them forward or hold them back.
Adam, the founder of Aspire Studios, LLC, recognized this gap in the leadership development landscape. He envisioned a tool that not only identifies but actively nurtures latent leadership qualities, enabling individuals to truly comprehend their worth, impact, and areas for growth. To bring this vision to life, Adam partnered with Chop Dawg to design and develop Quilted, a mobile application available on iPhone and Android that transforms peer feedback into actionable self-awareness. Through carefully designed prompts, attribute scoring algorithms, and a subscription model that rewards engagement, Quilted empowers a new generation of leaders to understand themselves through the eyes of those who know them best.
Before Quilted, individuals seeking honest feedback about their leadership qualities faced significant obstacles. Traditional performance reviews happened infrequently and often felt political or surface-level. Asking colleagues directly for candid assessments created social discomfort. Self-assessments, while valuable, suffered from inherent blind spots. The result was a landscape where potential leaders lacked the genuine insights they needed to grow.
Adam needed a platform that could collect meaningful feedback without awkwardness, transform that feedback into clear attribute scores, and motivate users to both give and receive insights regularly. The system had to balance accessibility for free users with compelling value for subscribers, ensuring that those who invested in their growth received proportionally deeper insights. Additionally, the platform required an administrative backend powerful enough to manage prompts, attributes, scoring algorithms, and user analytics without requiring constant developer intervention. Every component had to work together to create a self-sustaining ecosystem of feedback and growth.
Building a Leadership Development Platform from Vision to Launch
From the very first conversation, we understood that Quilted was more than an app. It was a mission to redefine how leadership is perceived and cultivated. Working closely with Adam, we mapped every user journey from registration and subscription through connection building, prompt answering, and attribute discovery. We defined how prompts should be structured, how responses should impact attribute scores, and how the system should balance encouraging feedback contribution with protecting user privacy.
Figma served as our collaborative design hub where wireframes evolved into polished, high-fidelity screens that captured Quilted’s aspirational yet approachable brand. Weekly Zoom sessions kept both teams aligned as we iterated on the mobile experience and administrative backend. In parallel, we formalized a technical approach centered on React Native for mobile, React for the web admin portal, Firebase and Google Cloud Platform for the backend, Stripe with Apple Pay and Google Pay for subscriptions, and OneSignal for push notifications. Through Slack, Jira, and Confluence, every decision stayed anchored to one core promise: this platform should empower individuals to truly understand themselves through the insights of others.
We designed and developed iPhone and Android applications that transform peer feedback from awkward conversations into structured, actionable insights that help individuals grow as leaders.
Users can register using email and password or connect through Apple, LinkedIn, or Google accounts for streamlined onboarding. Every account requires mobile number verification through SMS-based two-factor authentication, ensuring security without sacrificing convenience. Invited users who receive connection requests via email are guided through a deep-linked registration flow that automatically connects them with the person who invited them. From the first interaction, Quilted establishes trust and security as foundational principles.
Users grow their network by inviting colleagues through address book integration, SMS, email, or shareable deep links. When adding a connection, users answer questions that profile the nature of their relationship, including how long they have worked together and the extent to which they value feedback from this person. This relationship data informs the platform’s algorithms, ensuring that feedback from trusted, long-term colleagues carries appropriate weight in attribute calculations. Users can view pending and active connections, cancel requests, or remove connections as their professional relationships evolve.
At the heart of Quilted is its prompt system. Users are presented with randomized prompts based on their connections, each following one of four templates: select all individuals that apply, select the one individual that applies, select all that applies to an individual, or select the one that applies to an individual. Each prompt response option carries a weighted value that impacts specific attributes. Users who provide more feedback receive prompts at higher frequency, creating a virtuous cycle where active participants gain deeper insights into their own profiles while helping their connections grow.
Beyond the mobile experience, we developed a robust web-based administrative platform that gives Adam and his team complete control over prompts, attributes, user management, and platform analytics.
Administrators can create, edit, and delete prompts through an intuitive interface. Each prompt is assigned a template type, prompt text, response options with associated values, and connections to one or more attributes with defined impact weights. The system supports dependency rules where certain prompts become more or less frequent based on a user’s existing attribute scores. Administrators can preview how prompts will impact attributes before publishing, ensuring the feedback ecosystem remains balanced and meaningful.
The administrative backend provides full control over the attribute system that powers Quilted’s insights. Administrators can add new attributes, define value ranges, and map which prompts influence each attribute. Visibility thresholds determine how much feedback a user must receive before an attribute appears on their profile, protecting against skewed data from limited responses. Weighting rules allow feedback from highly engaged, varied responders to carry more influence than feedback from users who consistently give identical ratings to everyone.
Administrators can search users by first name, last name, email, mobile number, or registration date. Advanced filters segment users by activity level, subscription status, feedback frequency, and login recency. Each user record displays complete metrics including connection count, feedback received, feedback given, and subscription history. Staff can trigger password reset emails, delete accounts with full confirmation workflows, and manage data for individuals who appear in feedback but never registered, ensuring complete control over the platform’s user ecosystem.
Our partnership with Aspire Studios, LLC extended far beyond design and development. We served as strategic advisors, helping Adam make confident decisions about platform architecture, monetization strategy, and user experience so Quilted could fulfill its mission of cultivating self-aware leaders.
Together, we designed a freemium model that balances accessibility with compelling value. Free users can participate fully in the feedback ecosystem, providing insights to their connections and receiving prompts about others. However, only subscribers unlock their complete attribute profiles. This approach ensures the platform generates valuable data from all users while creating clear incentive for those serious about growth to subscribe. The free trial offers a risk-free preview that converts engaged users into paying subscribers.
Throughout the design process, we advised on how to structure the relationship between prompts, responses, and attributes to produce meaningful insights. We defined weighting rules that account for responder engagement patterns, ensuring that feedback from thoughtful, varied contributors carries appropriate influence. Visibility thresholds protect users from misleading scores based on limited data. The result is an attribute system that users can trust to reflect genuine peer perception rather than statistical noise.
Beyond the apps themselves, we prepared Quilted for a successful market entry. We designed a WordPress marketing website with landing pages, feature explanations, pricing information, and blog capabilities. Social media graphics for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok ensure consistent brand presence across platforms. App Store assets including screenshots and promotional materials position Quilted for discovery. A 30-day bug warranty and maintenance window ensure smooth operations after launch while comprehensive documentation supports future development.
Our partnership with Aspire Studios, LLC was built on shared vision and transparent communication. Weekly Zoom sessions kept both teams aligned throughout design, while bi-weekly meetings during development ensured steady progress toward launch. Slack provided real-time communication for quick decisions, Figma served as our collaborative design canvas, and Jira tracked every feature and bug through completion. A dedicated project manager coordinated deliverables and ensured Adam always knew exactly where the project stood. By the time Quilted launched, it reflected not just our technical expertise but Adam’s deep understanding of what aspiring leaders need to unlock their potential.

Quilted now provides individuals with structured, honest insights into their leadership qualities through the eyes of those who work alongside them. The prompt and attribute system transforms casual observations into quantified feedback that highlights both recognized strengths and growth areas that might otherwise remain invisible. Users gain clarity about their professional presence without the awkwardness of direct confrontation, empowering them to make targeted improvements in their leadership journey.
Through thoughtful gamification and the subscription model, Quilted creates a self-sustaining community where users are motivated to both give and receive feedback. Those who contribute more prompts receive insights at higher frequency, creating a virtuous cycle of engagement. The connection system with relationship context ensures that feedback comes from relevant professional relationships rather than casual acquaintances. Every interaction strengthens the platform’s value for all participants.
Because Quilted is built on a modern, modular stack with React Native, React, Firebase, and Google Cloud Platform, the platform is ready to grow alongside its user base and Adam’s expanding vision. The administrative backend empowers the team to add new prompts, refine attributes, and adjust scoring algorithms without developer intervention. As Quilted’s community grows and feedback patterns emerge, the platform can evolve to deliver increasingly sophisticated insights, fulfilling its mission of redefining how leadership is cultivated.
