Bringing Dignity and Connection Online: Introduction to Just People Digital

Life at Just People is filled with classes, jobs, sports, and friendships—but until now, the details lived in paper binders, spreadsheets, and phone trees. Our collaboration re-imagines those touchpoints as a single seamless experience where members shape their own profiles, celebrate wins on a private social feed, and see what’s next on their schedule the moment they wake up. For caregivers and loved ones, the app offers comforting visibility; for staff, the web portal replaces scattered tools with a centralized command center that scales effortlessly as the organization grows.

Turning Paper Trails into Real-Time Support

Coordinating transportation, events, employment, and housing for hundreds of adults with varying abilities is a logistical puzzle. Staff juggled texts, calendars, and manual data entry while families waited for updates that sometimes never came. Our challenge was to digitize these workflows without sacrificing the warmth and trust that define Just People. Every tap needed to feel welcoming, every permission airtight, and every notification meaningful—so users of every ability could navigate with confidence.

From Whiteboards to Working Code: How We’re Building Just People Digital

Chop Dawg transformed months of onsite discovery into a high-fidelity Figma prototype, and is now converting that blueprint into React Native, Firebase-powered reality.

We mapped every persona—member, staff, loved one—then storyboarded ride flows, goal tracking, and safety reporting down to the last pixel. Our designers collaborated daily with program directors to test color contrast and iconography for accessibility, while engineers laid the groundwork for role-based security and automated alerts. With design fully approved, our sprint cycles now focus on bringing those interactions to life: cloud-hosted, encrypted, and ready for inevitable growth.
