From day one, we approached BedMatch Pro as a high stakes, healthcare adjacent product that needed enterprise level thinking at MVP stage. Working closely with BedMatch Pro’s founding team, we turned real world stories from families, advocates, and providers into detailed user journeys for four core roles: residents and loved ones, providers, internal staff, and the distinct Resident entity itself. Together, we mapped flows for anonymous discovery, account creation, resident profile submission, algorithmic matching, tour scheduling, encrypted messaging, review collection, provider operations, internal moderation, and subscription billing.

Using Figma as our living blueprint and React, Node.js, Firebase, Stripe, RevenueCat, Twilio, SendGrid, and Google Maps as our proposed stack, we validated each screen and workflow through recurring Zoom sessions, Slack conversations, and Jira tracked milestones. By the time development was underway, everyone shared a clear, tested understanding of how the platform should feel, behave, and scale, which allowed us to move from concept to production ready builds without sacrificing empathy or compliance.

Behind the scenes, a weighted matching engine turns those inputs into compatibility scores, highlighting top matches and visual indicators for where each facility meets, partially meets, or does not meet specific needs. Users can view results in map or list mode, quickly compare options, and explore detailed profiles without giving up their privacy.

The platform carefully separates the idea of a “User” from a “Resident”. Loved ones, agents, and residents themselves can begin searching anonymously, then create secure accounts when they are ready to take action. Resident profiles capture critical details like diagnoses, mobility, cognitive status, behavioral considerations, dietary needs, insurance type, language, and urgency, all encrypted in transit and at rest. Users can maintain multiple resident profiles under one account, transfer a profile between accounts with multi factor confirmation, and explicitly control which providers can reach out directly. Providers only see the information they are authorized to see, which preserves dignity and compliance while still enabling meaningful matchmaking.
