Before the advent of Accutate Voting Services, managing HOA or COA elections involved cumbersome processes involving spreadsheets, emails, PDFs, and confusing mail-in procedures. Voting was time-consuming, error-prone, and lacked transparency. Communities had no reliable means to track results or verify voter engagement.
AVS was developed to address these challenges. It offers secure voter verification, customizable ballots, real-time dashboards, and proxy voting. Chop Dawg collaborated with the AVS team to leverage years of election expertise to create a modern and fully responsive web platform that simplifies managing community elections, making them more efficient, accurate, and accessible to everyone involved.
HOA and COA elections require meticulous handling of privacy, legal compliance, validation, and community participation. However, most tools either lacked security or imposed cumbersome workarounds. The ballot setup was tedious, and tracking voter eligibility and ensuring their participation was challenging. Many communities lacked an audit trail altogether.
Our challenge with AVS was to eliminate the chaos without introducing complexity. Every screen and backend rule had to be airtight, legally compliant, and user-friendly for any property manager. We translated these requirements into a streamlined system that not only digitizes the election process but also elevates it into something communities can trust.
Chop Dawg Designed, Prototyped, and Programmed the Entire Election Platform from Scratch
AVS isn’t just a voting tool; it’s a sophisticated system designed to streamline election processes, provide flexible administrative controls, and ensure robust data security. From the outset, Chop Dawg collaborated with the AVS team to map out various use cases, ranging from small Homeowners Associations (HOAs) to large-scale communities with thousands of voters.
We meticulously designed the entire system in Figma, crafted detailed product flows, and are currently developing a robust and fully responsive web application using React and Firebase. Each feature, from voter verification to ballot customization, is meticulously crafted to prioritize clarity, auditability, and practical implementation at scale.
From secure links to customizable ballots, every feature was designed to reduce friction and increase trust in the voting process.
Eligible voters receive a deep-linked URL via email or text, leading them straight to their ballot. Two-factor authentication confirms their identity, and the entire process is encrypted and trackable—ensuring only authorized users can vote, and only once.
If a homeowner can’t vote directly, they can securely assign a proxy to vote on their behalf. The platform manages proxy assignments, confirmation flows, and secure submission—ensuring every household is represented, even when members are unavailable.
AVS puts HOA managers and boards in full control, with a clear interface for setup, review, and result sharing—no IT experience required.
Admins can build and preview custom ballots with multiple question types, set voting rules, define quorums, and schedule start/end dates. Drafts can be saved, duplicated, shared as PDFs, and published once finalized—giving full control over each election cycle.
The admin dashboard lets election managers track who has voted (without exposing how they voted), resend ballots manually, and revoke votes if needed. All actions are logged and exportable—supporting transparency, audits, and peace of mind.
From first conversation to active development, Chop Dawg has remained a hands-on partner to the AVS team. We didn’t just write code—we worked alongside them to identify pain points, guide solution architecture, and plan for the platform’s long-term growth.
From standard elections to cumulative and proxy voting, every scenario was accounted for. Our team crafted the flows to accommodate all common HOA/COA election types with complete configurability.
Whether managing a 30-person HOA or a 30,000-person COA, AVS was architected for scale—with responsive design, optimized performance, and infrastructure that handles high-volume ballot submissions with ease.
From voter verification to anonymous vote storage, every flow was designed with legal compliance and user trust in mind—ensuring the platform aligns with governing laws and community expectations.
The AVS project was conducted with utmost transparency. We employed weekly Zoom meetings, real-time Slack updates, daily Figma and GitHub pushes, and shared design and development documentation tools like Jira and Confluence. Through detailed demos and documentation, we aligned on every product flow, backend decision, and admin logic. From the smallest UX behavior to the most sensitive data policies, AVS was meticulously built with care and collaboration at every stage.

We created a clear, accessible design system that makes even complex elections feel simple—ensuring homeowners, board members, and admins all feel empowered, not overwhelmed.
The AVS platform is being built in React with Firebase infrastructure, using modern standards for speed, security, and scalability across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
AVS isn’t just a tool—it’s a smarter way to govern communities. Built for adoption, trust, and future expansion, it sets a new standard for property-based elections everywhere.
