A fitness platform with a higher purpose, DiverseCity grew from its flagship program in Philadelphia to five more cities over the following eleven years, reaching over 10,000 youth in the process.

The early days of the program involved pairing youth from different cities for summer sports leagues. The impact was seen, and now, with the launch of the DiverseCity app, young people from all over the world can get involved in the community, impacting one another and creating a more healthy, diverse environment for all.

Beginner and advanced-level athletes are welcome to the app, which offers cardio and strength training, yoga and specialized sports training via on-demand workouts. Users can also join live broadcasts to hear from special guests such as pro-athletes and chat with app community members via real-time chat. The app is free for 30-days, after which it becomes a monthly subscription at $12.99 per month.

With gamification and social-driven features, DiverseCity powers users towards their fitness goals.

In-app sharing of video workouts and other content is encouraged, and inviting friends to connect is a built-in feature. App workouts can also be downloaded to be available offline. The idea is to encourage accountability through connectivity. The Personal Health Passport tracks user achievements over time, awarding badges for set milestones to gamify the experience and drive the overall user experience.
The Streaks feature helps motivate users to log on everyday to complete workouts and form healthy habits to lead them to achieve their fitness goals. The app also sends reminders via push notifications to further drive user engagement.
