The cryptocurrency space has long suffered from an accessibility problem. Existing wallets assume technical knowledge that average consumers do not possess. Interfaces are cluttered with jargon, charts, and options that overwhelm rather than empower. Price volatility means that the coffee purchased for five dollars worth of Bitcoin today might cost three dollars or eight dollars tomorrow. By the end of our design engagement, Autarky had a complete visual blueprint ready for development: wireframes, high fidelities, product flows, and a clickable prototype that could demonstrate the vision to investors and partners.

Autarky was designed to serve two distinct audiences through tailored registration and account experiences. Individual users create personal wallets by providing basic information, setting up usernames with distinctive formatting similar to cash tags, and optionally adding profile photos. Business accounts capture additional details including business addresses, contact information, and employer identification numbers for proper commercial operation. Both account types support multiple funding methods including linked bank accounts, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay through Stripe integration. Users can select which currencies to hold beyond the default TUSD, and premium business accounts can access point-of-sale hardware for in-store transactions. This dual approach ensures that Autarky serves both sides of the transaction equation.

NFC-Powered Transactions with Real-Time Ledger Updates

The cornerstone of Autarky’s merchant experience is its NFC-enabled transaction interface. When a consumer and business are ready to transact, the buyer selects the buy function while the seller enters the sale amount and optional itemization. Autarky provides comprehensive transaction history powered by blockchain transparency. Users can view all credits and debits with dates, times, amounts, and counterparty information. Search functionality allows filtering by date range, merchant or contact name, and transaction amount ranges. Sorting options include newest to oldest, oldest to newest, and browsing by year or month. Every transaction supports memo and note fields for personal record-keeping. The e-receipts system provides a dedicated view of all transaction receipts with filtering by time period and sorting by merchant or amount. Export capabilities generate PDF and CSV files that can be emailed directly from the application, creating records suitable for accounting, tax preparation, or personal budgeting.

Automatic Deposits and Payment Reminders

Autarky helps users maintain their desired balances through automatic deposit scheduling. Users configure recurring deposits by selecting amounts from presets or entering custom values, then choosing frequency options including weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or specific calendar dates. Deposits can be paused temporarily or canceled entirely as circumstances change. Complementing automatic deposits, the payment reminder system helps users stay on top of recurring obligations. Each reminder captures a title, optional details, amount, due date, and recurrence frequency. Reminders appear as both in-app and push notifications, ensuring users never miss important payments.
