A Golf Experience Built for Today’s Player with CourseCaddie

CourseCaddie is an iPhone and Android app that helps golfers track, rank, and relive the courses they’ve played—while discovering new favorites and staying connected to friends. The CourseCaddie team partnered with Chop Dawg to bring their vision to life from the ground up. We designed every screen, built a full product blueprint, and are now programming a production-grade MVP (minimum viable product) for iOS and Android that blends GPS search, pairwise rankings, and social engagement into a seamless, intuitive experience.

Golf Isn’t Just a Game—It’s a Journey: Introduction to CourseCaddie

Before CourseCaddie, golfers had no clear system for remembering where they played, which courses were worth returning to, or how to track progress with friends. Most relied on memory, spreadsheets, or scattered notes—and the joy of discovery was often lost.

The CourseCaddie team wanted to change that. Chop Dawg was brought in to design and develop a mobile platform that gives players a smarter, more meaningful way to log and share their golf experiences. We’re now building a robust MVP that lets golfers explore, rank, reflect, and connect—creating a full-circle journey that keeps every round relevant.

Turning Disconnected Notes into a Dynamic Golf Timeline

Golfers didn’t need just another map of nearby courses—they needed a smarter way to capture memories, share opinions, and build personal lists they could reflect on or recommend. The existing solutions were too static, too impersonal, and lacked the emotional layer that keeps players engaged long term.

The CourseCaddie MVP had to feel familiar yet powerful. Our challenge was to build something organized but flexible, socially rich without becoming noisy, and fun without gimmicks. Every decision—design, data, UX, and backend logic—was built around how real golfers behave. The result is a deeply personal, scalable product in progress that will shape the way players remember and share every course they play.

From Figma Blueprint to a Mobile App Built to Scale: How We Built CourseCaddie

Chop Dawg Designed and Programmed the Entire Platform from the Ground Up

Chop Dawg didn’t just handle programming—we designed the full user experience from scratch. Our team worked directly with the CourseCaddie founders to map every flow, create the wireframe and high-fidelity Figma screens, and architect the backend to bring it all to life.

We’re now turning that design into a fully functioning mobile app, built in React Native with Firebase and custom backend logic. Everything—from course discovery and friend activity to real-time rankings and leaderboard metrics—is being engineered to work beautifully from day one, with a scalable infrastructure ready for future feature releases and community growth.

Helping Golfers Discover, Track, and Rank theCourses That Matter Most

With just a few taps, CourseCaddie turns memories into meaningful, ranked experiences worth sharing.

Personalized Played & Want to Play Lists

Golfers can log every course they’ve played, bookmark future destinations, and organize their history automatically using pairwise rankings. Their personal list becomes a dynamic, ever-evolving reflection of their golf journey—tailored to what matters most to them.

Social Feed Built for the Golf Community

The Clubhouse tab displays a real-time stream of activity from friends—reviews, photos, and recent rounds—giving users a fun, low-pressure way to stay connected and inspired. It’s community-driven content designed to keep players engaged between rounds.

Guided Course Rankings with Pairwise Logic

After rating a course, users are guided through quick comparisons to previously played rounds—helping refine their list without overwhelming them. This pairwise system keeps lists clean, accurate, and surprisingly fun to interact with.

Simple Tools that Let the Platform Grow with the Community

CourseCaddie balances social freedom with thoughtful controls to keep everything safe, accurate, and user-friendly.

Manual Course Submissions

Users can add new golf courses to the app instantly, ensuring CourseCaddie grows with the community and never relies on a static third-party database. It’s built to scale with real user behavior in mind.

Reporting and Moderation Controls

A clean reporting interface lets users flag inappropriate content in just a few taps. These are routed to the CourseCaddie team in real time, helping protect the experience without over-policing it.

Profile Privacy and Control

Golfers can choose public or private profile settings, control visibility of their lists and activity, and manage how others interact with them—putting users in full control of their experience.

A True End-to-End Partnership with the CourseCaddie Team

From the very first concept to the current build in progress, Chop Dawg has been by CourseCaddie’s side. We guided everything from initial UX strategy and design decisions to backend logic and rollout planning.

  • Designed from the Ground Up

We created a pixel-perfect Figma system—including every screen, animation, flow, and edge case—to ensure clarity before development even began.

  • Social by Nature, Scalable by Design

We’re building a system that works beautifully today and is ready for what’s next—whether that’s tournament support, affiliate tools, or sponsored listings.

  • Ready for Real Users

From GPS logic to custom algorithms, we’re building this to perform. Everything has been scoped for a high-quality MVP that makes a great first impression.

Transparent Communication, Zero Surprises

From the initial roadmap planning to the backend infrastructure, both teams remained aligned throughout the entire process. Our team maintained a real-time alignment with CourseCaddie through weekly Zoom meetings, Slack collaboration, daily GitHub and Figma pushes, and iterative demos of new features as they were developed. Every aspect of the product, including backend logic, ranking algorithms, content moderation, and UI behavior, was meticulously reviewed to ensure that it performs as promised.
